The Pittsburgh Steelers have added their second QB of the off-season by trading a conditional 6th round pick to the Bears for Justin Fields.
It’s a stunning win for the Steelers, and a humiliation for the Bears who have traded a QB they were looking for at least a second-round pick for, and preferably more, just a week ago.
Steelers now have actual QB’s on the roster
While the Bears may have been fleeced, Pittsburgh had seemingly resolved their near, and long-term future at QB. Fields will get a chance to sit behind Wilson for a year and learn the things his been poor at, ie consistency, accuracy, and reading the whole field.
The main issue holding back the Steelers last year was the QB position, and head coach Mike Tomlin has clearly resolved that won’t be the issue going forward.
The future for the Bears is still bright as they will pick Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 draft. Of course, the Bears have taken QB’s high in the draft in recent memory, Trubisky and Fields, and they are still searching.
Only time will tell who truly won this trade.
