The Chicago Bears have “No master plan” according to GM Ryan Poles.
“It just depends on what opportunities pop up,” Poles said. “I will say this, I think you guys know me well enough now, if we go down that road, I want to do right by Justin as well. No one wants to live in grey, I know that’s uncomfortable. I wouldn’t want to be in that situation either. So, we will gather the information, we will move as quickly as possible, we are not going to be in a rush and see what presents itself and what’s best for the organization.”
Bears claim to have no clue
The idea that the Bears have no idea what they’re going to do is humorous. If it’s about the offers they may get then we know they’ll get more for the number one pick than they will for Fields. That’s the way the NFL works.
However, no one believes them. While Poles is out there trying to pump the value on Fields, by saying he has no clue what he’s doing, everyone else is laughing. Because it’s been clear for years that the Bears have no clue what they’re doing. But in this case, it’s obvious they are taking Williams and trading Fields.
But still the guys at the top jaw. “I would love to know as soon as possible,” Poles said. “I would love to know but I know that’s not how the process works. Sure, before free agency would be good. Like I said, I’m also taking, if we were to do something with Justin, I want to do right by him and I know, again, living in that gray space, we would want to do something sooner rather than later.”
Poles continued, “But just like I talk about with contracts, it takes two teams to figure that out, but at the same time, we’re also trying to figure out the draft process as well. There’s a lot of different things with different timelines going and that’s what makes it a little difficult.”
Imagine for a moment that we take him on face value. After a month of thinking, analysing, watching tape, talking it over in meetings they have no clue whether they think Fields or Williams is the better QB.
If that’s the case the Bears owners should fire all of them. Every. Single. One.
If you have no clue about how to do your job. How to evaluate talent. Quit. Because you are way out of your depth. Bears fans had better hope Poles is only dumb enough to be trying to pump the price on Fields. Because if he genuinely has no clue they’re going to waste the next few years regardless.
