Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for the Bears DC Alan Williams resigned out of the blue. Unfortunately, Williams wasn’t just fed up, or seeking a new life, he is facing devastating allegations.
The Bears have started the season 0-2, and while the defence hasn’t been the main source of those problems, things haven’t been great. Williams was missing from the Bears last weekend when they travelled to Tampa.
And things seemed to get stranger.
But Pat McAfee has taken it a step further after rumours on twitter that the Bears facility was raided by the FBI. ‘It has been speculated and [Williams’] attorney has come out and said there was no crime that has taken place and unequivocally answered these questions saying “nothing went wrong with my potential client”,’ McAfee said. ‘But any time you hear about an FBI raid happening you assume that [when] there’s smoke there’s a fire.’
ALAN WILLIAMS NEEDS SOME TIME
While it’s clear Alan Williams isn’t the DC of the Bears anymore, everything else seems kind of muddy. Twitter is not a place to get much reliable information, and the fact the Bears have denied their facility was raided by the FBI should give everyone pause.
You have to hope the allegations aren’t true. But the Chicago Bears are a franchise that could really do with something going their way quickly.
