The Titans new star CB L’Jarius Sneed says his knees are 100% after he was traded from the Chiefs for a third-round pick.
Sneed and the Titans agreed to a new 4-year $76-million contract after the trade, and at his introductory press conference he was confident his knees are fine.
“Ain’t nothing wrong with my knees,” Sneed said. “I had a couple of problems, a banged-up knee before. But I’m good right now.”
Titans CB Sneed had a great 2023
Sneed played 98% of snaps in 2023 for the Chiefs who repeated as Super Bowl champions despite being under dogs throughout the playoffs.
Originally drafted in the 4th round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Sneed was tasked with covering each teams number one receiver and was credited with only giving up a 52% completion rate and only 2 touchdowns (per pff.com)
“I feel like I deserve to be the highest-paid off of my season I had last year,” Sneed said. “Things worked out for me and for my family and for the organization, the Tennessee Titans.”
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid hadn’t wanted to part ways with his star corner, ‘He’s one of my all-time favorite guys,’ Reid said. ‘Great human being. As great a player as he is, he’s an even better human being. As tough as you can imagine. I’m his biggest fan.
‘He was our lockdown guy. Every best receiver, he had the best receiver. You juggle the salary cap, it’s ridiculous what you have to go through,’ he added. ‘The players you can keep and the players you can’t keep. But we all loved him and that wasn’t the problem.’
