Titans land best WR in free agency for $92m

The Tennessee Titans have given QB Will Levis another toy to play with, and it’s a pretty good one. WR Calvin Ridley signed a $92-million 4-year deal to join the Titans and play opposite fellow stud DeAndre Hopkins.

Ridley had been hotly tipped to re-up with the Jaguars but when push came to shove they couldn’t beat what Tennessee had to offer.

“I really wanted to honestly be with the Jags, but there was a lot of things that wasn’t working out for me,” Ridley said during his introductory presser. “Then obviously the money was pretty good, so I went with that, and yeah, I’m here.”

Titans now have one of the NFL’s best WR 1-2

“I just feel I’m going to be able to be a grown man here,” Ridley said. “This team showed me they want me here for a while, and they told me already they’re going to treat me like a grown man. I’m 29 on paper, but I’m really like 25 years old in real life.”

After being suspended for the 2022 season, Ridly rehabbed his reputation in Jacksonville in 2023 putting up 1,016 yards receiving and 8 touchdowns. It was only the second time he posted a 1,000 yard season and took his career TD’s to 36 in his 5-year career.

New Titans offensive coordinator Nick Holz knows Ridley well having been the Jags pass game coordinator in 2023. If he can get the same performance from Ridley in 2024 expect a great season for Tennessee.
