New Titans head coach Brian Callahan has a lot to do as he starts his new job, but it seems that finding a QB isn’t one of them.
“I can’t wait to get to work with him,” Callahan said of QB Will Levis at his opening presser. “He’s got a lot of really special physical talents that I’m excited to go see if we can make better.”
Callahan has a lot of experience with quality QB’s so if there’s a diamond in Will Levis maybe he can bring it to the surface. Callahan has previously worked with Matthew Stafford, Derek Carr, Peyton Manning, and most recently Joe Burrow.
Payton Manning has spoke highly of Callahan, “Brian was extremely helpful to me during my four years playing for the Broncos,” Manning said. “The quarterback room is a small room, and you’ve got three quarterbacks and usually two coaches in there. So, Brian and I spent a lot of time in those quarterback meetings. I think it’s a great hire for the Tennessee Titans.”
Titans have holes and tonne of cap space
Callahan’s experience of working with great QB’s was a major plus point for the Titans. “We knew his background and his extensive experience,” Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk said. “We saw the list of quarterbacks he’s worked with and elite offenses he’s been a part of.”
“The teams that win the most games are generally the teams that pass the ball the best,” Callahan said last year. “Usually because they have really good quarterbacks and usually because they have guys that can make plays on the football outside.”
