The Houston Texans produced one of the best stories of the season as they came from nowhere to secure a playoff spot under rookie QB CJ Stroud with a 23-19 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
“Everybody’s fighting till that last play, that’s what it’s about,” head coach DeMeco Ryans said. “We punched our ticket. It wasn’t pretty, but it was gritty. We fought and found a way to get it done.”
Texans win the division
Unbelievably, the Texans won the AFC South with the Jacksonville Jaguars loss to the Titans. Houston were 3-13-1 last season and in complete disarray. Since the start of the DeShaun Watson saga this has been a franchise no one expected much form.
But with a new head coach, and incredible play from rookie QB CJ Stroud, the Texans are a team everyone will fear in the playoffs.
For the Colts it was almost a fairytale as well. But with three losses in the final five games it all came crashing down just as it always seems to after Minshew Mania has run it’s course.
