The Pittsburgh Steelers kept alive their playoff hopes with a grinding win over the Seattle Seahawks 30-23.
Steelers RB Najee Harris bullied the Seahawks defence all game with a season high 122 yards and 2 scores. “We got to win out. This is kind of playoffs for us, so us executing right now is kind of the biggest thing,” Harris said.
Steelers rushing attack the source of win
While Mason Rudolph was solid with 274-yards passing, and more importantly no turnovers, it was the Steelers running attack that was its power. Jaylen Warren complemented Harris’s stats with 75-yards and a score of his own on 13 carries.
“I thought he was determined, as was Jaylen,” Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said of Harris. “I thought we got appropriate efforts from all parties involved and not to minimize it, it was just a critical time, and so if you’re a competitor you’re going to be at your best.”
The loss doesn’t eliminate Seattle from the postseason, but it makes their route much harder.
“I was really disappointed missing this opportunity, right here at home,” Seattle head coach Pete Carroll said. “Everybody was ready. This was a great one and we missed it. We weren’t right on defense in the run game again. It’s been repetitive. You can see it.”
