The Pittsburgh Steelers scored an 86-yard TD on their second play from scrimmage and never looked back as they downed division rivals the Cincinnati Bengals 34-11.
It’s been a tumultuous season for the Steelers, but this game was over after their second possession, a 10-play 80-yard drive that was capped off with an Austin touchdown. Pittsburgh were never threatened after that, running out to a 24-0 lead before Cincinnati finally showed some life in the second half.
STEELERS READY FOR PLAYOFF PUSH?
Mason Rudolph finally showed some of why the Steelers drafted him throwing for 290 yards and 2 scores with no interceptions. “You have confidence in yourself as a player,” the longtime backup quarterback said. “But I’m kinda thinking, ‘Am I going to jump into the commercial real estate realm next year or am I going to play quarterback?’”
It was a bit of a turning of the tables for the two head coaches. There have been calls for Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin to be sacked lately, but he told his team pre game, “scared money don’t make money.” And that is always the way Tomlin has coached.
After some impressive performances with Jake Browning at QB, the Bengals came back to earth with a bump. “This is a humbling league, this is a humbling day,” Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said.
