Seahawks smash Giants, move to 3-1

The Seattle Seahawks are quietly making an impressive start to the 2023 season as they followed up back to back wins with a thumping of the awful Giants 27-3 on MNF.

The Giants may not look anything like the playoff team from last year, but the Seahawks are building into the season after an opening week defeat. It wasn’t the prettiest game, or the most explosive, but Seattle never trailed, and never really looked stressed as they comfortably beat the 2.5 point spread.

SEAHAWKS DEFENCE DOMINANT

Seattle will have been disappointed with their offensive output, but their defence made sure it was an easy night. LB Bobby Wagner, who had 17 tackles, said this after the game, “I think we needed it. Easy game defensively. We’ve been getting better. We’ve done a good job stopping the run, but the thing was applying pressure. The last game we had a lot of pressures but not as many sacks. I think this game we turned those pressures into sacks.”

HC Pete Carroll echoed those sentiments, “We’re just getting goingWe’re just putting it together. A night like this for our defense to play that explosively. I can’t remember seeking double-digit sacks.”

Both these teams will be seeking to play better, but the Seahawks seem at least to be on the right trajectory.
