Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams seem to be the least agitated he has been in a while as he has talked positively about new offensive coordinator Luke Getsy.
Adams and Getsy previously worked together in Green Bay and it seems the Raiders maybe have struck gold by pairing the two up again.
“Open-mindedness and, like I said, that innovation to the offense and a good run-pass balance,” Adams said of Getsy. “And that’s what I’m used to, that West Coast style. Going to be fun getting to work on a new system, [yet] something that’s a little bit more familiar.”
“He’s the type of coach that’s open-minded … he’s going to be open to hearing things from the veteran players that know how this thing works and the best way to do things,” said Adams.
Raiders looking to build on late season mo
The Raiders ended the season on a bit of a playoff push under then interim-head coach Antonio Pierce who has since been given the permanent role. If they can bring that level of fight and togetherness to the field in 2024 they may do some damage.
If they can bring the best of Adams then that’s definitely a step towards those playoff aspirations.
Meanwhile, GM Tom Telesco has said the team will look to bring RB Josh Jacobs back despite not tagging him. “He’s a Raider and he was drafted by the Raiders, so he’s a high-level player. So yeah, we’re going to explore pretty hard to see if we can bring him back here and kind of go from there. But as far as a player, running game, passing game, pass protection, he can really help you win games.”
