The Las Vegas Raiders are on team on the rise and they took apart the Kansas City Chiefs hopes of securing the AFC’s number 1 seed with a 20-14 win on Christmas Day.
Hot on the heels of their 63-21 demolition of the Chargers, the Raider defence added two touchdowns on back-to-back plays in the span of just 7 seconds to take this game away from the Chiefs in the second quarter.
RAIDERS RIP THROUGH CHEIFS OL
Rookie interim-head coach Antonio Pierce has the Raiders all fired up and looking like a team for the first time since Jon Gruden was fired, and it was way too much for the Chiefs offensive line to handle accumulating a staggering 32 pressures on the night. If the Raiders were to win out, and the Chiefs were to lose out, the Raiders would take the AFC West crown.
The Chiefs have a lot of work to do as their offence once again looked stale, and was again plagued by drops. The Chiefs have now lost 3 of their last 4 games and are rapidly running out of time to save their season and make their regular run to the AFC Championship game.
“They played a better game than we did today,” said Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. “On offense we struggled. That’s my responsibility to make sure we put the guys in the right position to make plays, and that didn’t happen the way we wanted it to. I take full responsibility for the way we played offensively there.”
