The Las Vegas Raiders had to adjust to the board and selected Georgia Tight End Brock Bowers with the 13th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Hotly tipped to be in the market for a QB, the Raiders were SOL as 6 (yes SIX!) QB’s came off the board in the first 12 picks. But Vegas selected the 7th best player in the draft and added a major weapon in Bowers.

PFF has this to say prior to the draft, “Outside of being on the smaller side, Bowers is a dream tight end prospect who can be an impact player in the slot, out wide and in line. Add in his reliable blocking ability on the line and in space, and you have an ultimate chess piece offensive weapon with All-Pro potential.”
General Manager Tom Telesco said this after drafting Bowers, “He’s tough. And when you when you play at Georgia, as a tight end, you have to be able to block. And in the SEC, he’s played against some real defenders. ourselves. But he’s an athletic move receiving tight end, but he can get down and block a bit on the line of scrimmage, which you’re going to have to do at this level, too. So, this kind of shows you what his game’s like.”
