Packers QB Jordan Love threw for 267 yards and 3 scores as he helped the Packers to a surprising 27-19 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.
The Packers won for the fourth time in five games and move themselves to 6-6 and very much still in the hunt for a playoff spot in a relatively soft NFC playoff pack. The Chiefs meanwhile are still top of the AFC West, but are losing ground in the hunt for the AFC’s number 1 seed.
PACKERS QB JORDAN LOVE COMING GOOD
After a slow start to the season, Packers QB Jordan Love has really started to look like a franchise QB the last few weeks. He made his first NFL start against the Chiefs, so this was something of a grudge game for him.
“Obviously I’ve had this game circled for a long time,” Love said. “This was my first start and I obviously didn’t play how I wanted to the first game. To be able to see these guys and get the victory is huge.”
The Packers offence has started to rally behind their QB, and begun playing more like a unit. “They’re coming together,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said. “They’re working. They’re getting better. They’re playing faster, playing more confident.”
“The Packers I thought did a great job tonight,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. “They got after us, and it’s a good football team. We’ve got to be able to start faster on both sides of the ball. We’ve got to make sure we take care of that. Whether it was the penalties on offense or whether we weren’t getting off the field on the defensive side, those are things that cost us. We’ve got to learn from that and get better as we go forward.”
