The Green Bay Packers kept up their strong run and shocked the Detroit Lions 29-22 on Thanksgiving behind a monster game from QB Jordan Love.
Love completed 22/32 for 268 yards and 3 touchdowns and looked like the second coming of Patrick Mahomes. Changing his arm angle, evading the rush, even gaining 37 yards with his legs in the fourth quarter to seal the game.
PACKERS MAY HAVE FOUND THE REAL JORDAN LOVE
The final nail in the Lions was a horrific decision for a fake punt on 4th and 4 on their own 23 yard line by head coach Dan Campbell. Down only 9th with 5:32 left in the 3rd quarter it was a risk too far for a coach who likes risk. The problem was it handed the Packers a short field that they turned into 1 15 point lead just 3-plays later.
After the game both coaches admitted it was a pivotal mistake.
“That obviously was a very critical play in the game,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said. “And, that translated into a touchdown.”
“It’s a bad call,” Campbell said. “I shouldn’t have done that to those guys.”
