The Detroit Lions finally got the real Jahmyr Gibbs on Monday Night Football as the rookie went off with 189 scrimmage yards, leading the Lions to a 26-14 win over the struggling Raiders.
The Lions have been a revelation this season and sit atop the NFC North by 2-games at 6-2.
JAHMYR GIBBS ADDS EXPLOSIVENESS TO LIONS OFFENCE
Head Coach Dan Campbell’s rebuild is definitely working well for the Lions. After the game he was all praise for Jahmyr Gibbs, “We felt like there was some things that we could do, and we wanted to get Gibbs going,” Campbell said. “We wanted to be able to establish the run, and you could tell he was feeling it. Every week, he’s gotten a little bit better, a little bit better, and I thought last week was his best game and this week certainly surpassed that.
“I think the more he gains his own confidence in his own abilities, in this league, he’s just going to continue to grow, and I think this was kind of the tip of the iceberg, if you will, for what he is able to do and going to be able to do.”
It’s taken Jahmyr Gibbs a while to show what he has in the NFL. This was the first time he’s cracked 80 yards rushing in a game, but it marks back to back weeks in which he’s gain over 100 scrimmage yards.
