Will Levis has landed the role of Titans starter after just two auditions. With one win, and one almost-comeback under his belt head coach Mike Vrabel has pulled the trigger on the next generation.
“Going forward Will is going to be our quarterback,” Vrabel said. “We’re going to go with Will, we think that’s the best opportunity for our football team right now, and see where he’s at.”
WILL LEVIS HAS BEEN INCREDIBLE
Ryan Tannehill has never really been a backup in the NFL, although before injury he was set to be the Dolphins number 2 in his rookie campaign. “It hits hard,” Tannehill said Wednesday. “I’ve never been in this situation before, never a situation that anyone wants to be in, but it’s a situation I’m in.”
“I’m going to be here to answer any questions he has and try to help him out along the way,” Tannehill said of working with Levis.
And it seems, Tannehill is mature enough to handle it. “Yesterday at practice, doing a good job of stepping in and letting me know that the reps, even in the beginning of practice with the 1s [were mine],” Will Levis said. “I didn’t want to step over him, but he came to me first to be like, ‘Hey, this is you.’ So it was cool to hear that.”
