It’s been a terrible few years for the Raiders and they thought getting Jimmy Garoppolo would help solve all their woes. Unfortunately, the injury-prone passer has one-again fallen victim to injury, suffering a back injury in the second quarter.
After the game, Raiders HC Josh McDaniels had this to say about JimmyG, “I think there are a lot of balls up in the air right now relative to Jimmy. We’ll have a little patience and see what the report is going to be. I’m hoping for the best, obviously. We’ll find out more and try to make the best decision for the team.”
On the field, the Raiders moved to 3-3 with an important 21-17 win over the Patriots.
RAIDERS MOVE TO 3-3 BUT DON’T LOOK IMPRESSIVE
The Raiders never trailed against the Patriots, but never managed to make the game comfortable either, managing only one Jakobi Meyers touchdown with 12:22 left in the second quarter. While their offense struggled, especially after the lose of their starting QB, the defence looked good and confused Mac Jones all night.
And it was the defence that ended the game with a safety by Bilal Nichols and Max Crosby with 1:47 left in the game. The safety gave the Raiders a 4-point lead, and the ball, ending any hopes the 1-5 Patriots had of a comeback.
