The Philadelphia Eagles got hammered by the Giants as they ended a pathetic 6-11 season by dragging the one-time Super Bowl favourites further into a dark hole.
The once 10-1 Eagles, finished with only 1 win in their last 6 games and will find themselves on the road in Tampa Bay next week with seemingly little idea of how to win an NFL game. “It’s about how you respond to it, and we’ve got to respond,” QB Jalen Hurts said. ”This is what it is.”
Where do the Eagles find that mojo?
“The feeling I’m getting from this team is very scary right now,” Eagles Fletcher Cox said. “Obviously, everybody’s pretty sad. We just got beat up by a pretty bad football team, let’s just say that. We get to go out and play again next week.”
“Ever since, what was it, four or five weeks ago, when we clinched the playoffs, I think everybody’s just been waiting for the playoffs,” tight end Dallas Goedert said. “Not something that is a great thing. But I think everybody is going to be ready to go and we’re going to show the world what we’re capable of.”
You can’t write the Eagles off, but head coach Nick Sirianni needs to make up whatever magic sauce he’s got left because his job, unbelievably, may be on the line. Eagles fans are notoriously hard to please, and the volume of sucking they have watched the second half of this season can not continue.
