The Dallas Cowboys came from behind to take down the Seattle Seahawks 41-35 and add more weight to their playoff credentials.
Dak Prescott led the Cowboys to three scoring drives in the fourth quarter as well as a 2-point conversion to keep the Cowboys on track for the number one wild card spot, and keep a little pressure still on the Eagles.
It was an impressive night for Prescott on the national stage as he completed 29/41 for 299 yards and 3 touchdowns. But despite his stellar play the Seahawks gave the Cowboys all they could handle.
COWBOYS DEFENCE SHREDDED BY METCALF
Seahawks WR DJ Metcalf was unstoppable all night with 6 catches for 134 yards and 3 scores, including a 73-yarder on the Seahawks third offensive play of the game. It’s been a relatively quiet season for Metcalf but he proved that he still has what it takes when he’s given the service.
The much vaunted Cowboys defence came in averaging just 276 yards allowed per game, but were shredded for 406 yards on the night. But with the game on the line down the stretch they came up strong stopping the Seahawks on downs on each of their last 3 possessions.
Seahawks HC Pete Carroll was heavily critical of the referees after the game. “It’s unfortunate that it feels like there was a whole ‘nother factor in this game,” Carroll said. “I don’t know, you guys saw it a lot better than I did, but there was just way too many penalties in this game, for both sides. We’ve got to get out of that kind of football.”
“They know the game, they know how to make these calls, but they can’t call everything that when there’s a little this and a little that, and particularly when it doesn’t affect the play,” he said. “I’ll spend some time on this in the offseason for sure. And I’m not saying I’ve got all the answers. I’m not saying that at all. I’m just saying that I think the game needs to be adjusted here somewhat because there’s too much emphasis on those situations.”
