Cardinals, Falcons swap flops in ’24 FA

The Arizona Cardinals added a solid backup QB in Desmond Ridder and sent former 2nd-round pick Rondale Moore the other way as the two teams swapped flops.

Ridder was named the Falcons starter for 2023 but was benched mid season, reinstated, and benched again. He threw for 12 passes and rushed for another 5, but his biggest issue was ball security, fumbling 12 times and throwing 12 interceptions.

Cardinals move on from Moore

Rondale Moore never really took off in Arizona as anything other than a gadget player, which limited his uses because other teams knew when he was on the field that his speed would be used laterally not vertically.

Entering his second season it’s clear head coach Jonathan Gannon is moulding this team around his system. WR Marvin Harrison Jr looks a lock to be the Cardinals pick in the 2024 NFL Draft as they retool the receiver room.

Anyone thinking the Ridder addition means Arizona is moving on from Murray only has to pick a random Falcons game and watch the tape from last season to know Ridder isn’t that guy. Maybe he can develop over a few seasons, but Murray will be the starter in 2024.
