Cardinals beat slumping Eagles 35-31

The Arizona Cardinals handed the Philadelphia Eagles their fourth loss in five games as they won battle of the birds 35-31.

Trailing 21-6 at the half the Cardinals came out on fire in the second half scoring touchdowns on all four of their possessions and holding the Eagles to only one drive over 25 yards.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray flashes brilliance again

It’s not been vintage Kyler Murray every week since his return from an ACL injury, but he once again showed the Cardinals what they have at the QB position. Murray threw for 232 yards and 3 touchdowns, including going 3/3 for 48 yards on the Cardinals game-winning drive.

“With everything that’s happened, a lot of disappointment this year, a lot of tough losses,” Murray said. “But trying to finish the season off the right way.”

The Eagles slump from number one seed to dumpster fire has been spectacular and wholly unexpected. This latest loss comes against a team that was 3-12 coming into the game, and was somewhat of a grudge match with the Cardinals boasting the Eagles DC from last season Jonathan Gannon as their head coach.

“We’ve got to get things fixed,” Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said. “And we’ve got to get them fixed fast. We’re in the playoffs. Lot of teams want to be in the playoffs. We can still do some things here.”

Sirianni’s comments seemed to smack more of desperation than of supreme confidence, which was generally the state of the Eagles before this incredible slump.
