Bucs Mayfield keeps rocking thrash Jags 30-12

The Bucs have themselves on the playoff-track after a 30-12 demolition of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tampa Bay scored on all four of their first half possessions to lead 20-0 before Jacksonville even turned up for the game. It didn’t get much better for the Jags after half time, with the Buccaneers scoring on their first two possession to build a commanding, and unassailable 30-0 lead.

Bucs QB Baker Mayfield has been rocking of late and has the Bucs on the verge of the playoffs.

“He’s been outstanding in December. That’s what you want from your quarterback,” Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said. “We’re piecing it together. Everybody’s playing for each other. Everybody’s locked in, and we’re trying to get in. We’re clawing, we’re scratching, doing everything we can.”

For the Jaguars things couldn’t be much worse. With another injury to Trevor Lawrence looking to sideline the starting QB for a while, they have now lost four on the spin, and 5 of their last 7. While finishing with the Panthers and Titans still has them with a reasonable shot at two wins their season has gone of the rails in a hurry.

“It’s frustrating. It’s really embarrassing,” Lawrence said. “You put a lot of work in to prepare and to look like you don’t even practice. You’ve just got to call it like you see it sometimes. It’s bad all the way around. We’ve got to find ways to get better. We’ve got to get out of our own way.”
