The Cleveland Browns have QB Deshaun Watson throwing every other day in his rehab from shoulder surgery.
“He looked like himself to me,” head coach Kevin Stefanski said. “I’ve been able to watch him the last couple of weeks now that we’ve gotten into phase 2. So, I’ve seen him throw. He’s making great progress. We will just continue to follow the medical team on this but he looks like himself.”
Browns need Watson
The Browns need Watson to be back to his best. They muddled through last season with a bunch of QB’s and managed to sneak into the playoffs. But if they could get the old-Texans version of Watson this team could take a big step forward.
Questions remain over whether that Deshaun Watson still exists after his sexual assault allegations. he has thrown just 170 passes in each of his two seasons in Cleveland, having been suspended for the whole of 2021.
Completing only 204 of those 240 passes for 2,217 yards, 14 touchdowns and 9 interceptions Watson has been underwhelming at best given his 5-year $230-million fully guaranteed contract.
