The Denver Broncos may have selected the ideal QB for head coach Sean Payton, as they took Oregon Duck Bo Nix with the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Nix played five seasons of college ball, 3 at Auburn before transferring to Oregon and amassed 15,286 yards and 113 touchdown passes, while throwing only 26 interceptions.
Broncos make it 6 QB’s in first 12 picks
PFF had this to say pre-draft, “Nix’s experience is evident in his ability to make pre-snap reads, his performance under pressure and his ability to avoid negative plays. His footwork needs to be more disciplined, and he will take some time to read progressions better in the NFL. However, he is a QB with starting-caliber tools and added out-of-structure playmaking.”
Nix seems to fit the ideal mood for coach Payton as he’s very accurate, and very steady and rarely puts the ball in danger. Some of his throw selection will need adjusting, and his footwork needs work, but this seems like the ideal spot for both Nix, and the Broncos.
