The Buffalo Bills put the Steelers away early at Orchard park in a game that was moved back because of bad weather. Jumping out to a quick 14-0 lead, the hometown Bills were never seriously threatened.
Josh Allen threw for 203 yards and 3 scores and rushed for another as the star QB showed just what it takes to win in the playoffs.
“People keep saying that’s what we wanted. We had no call in that,” Allen said about the postponement. “We would have played yesterday, would have played Saturday would have played Friday, it wouldn’t have mattered. We would have come out here and played when we were told to play.”
Bills stroll to win, set up Chiefs battle
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has been under pressure in Pittsburgh this season, and he walked out of his post game press conference when a reporter started his question with “Mike, you have a year left on your contract…”
In fairness to Tomlin, it’s an issue that has been blown out of proportion by the media and it’s hard to see anyway that he’s not the head coach in Pittsburgh next season.
The Bills will host the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round next weekend.
“We’re a step behind already,” Allen said, noting the Chiefs will have two more days of rest after beating Miami on Saturday. “It’s going to take a team effort. We know the type of team that they are, obviously the type of quarterback that they have in Pat over there.”
