The Bengals topped their heated rivals Cleveland 31-14 to close out their season at 9-8 and close the door on a season they would rather forget.
Jake Browning threw for 156 yards and three scores, and Joe Mixon rushed for 111 yards and a score as the Bengals dominated the Browns early, marching to a 31-0 lead at the end of three quarters.
Bengals disappointing season ends with a win
With the almost constant injuries to Joe Burrow and a defensive unit that was a shadow of it’s former self, the Bengals will most likely be happy the 2023 season is in the books.
The Browns on the other hand will advance to the playoffs on the back of one of the craziest seasons at QB in recent memory. Playing four QB’s, including one of the street who would lead them to the playoffs, it was an incredible run and testament to Kevin Stefanski’s coaching.
“When you look at these games, it’s about what’s best for your football team,” Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said. “I knew what this game was, a great opportunity for young guys to get some reps.”
