The Chicago Bears have selected QB Caleb Williams as the first pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.
It was widely expected that GM Ryan Poles and HC Matt Eberflus would be selecting Williams, but you never can be quite sure what the Bears will do when the time comes to make a decision.
Bears have themselves a potential star
Williams won the Heisman Trophy in 2022 after transferring to USC from Oklahoma. He amassed 10,098 yards and 93 touchdowns passing in his 3 college seasons.
PFF said this of Williams, “Williams is an incredibly talented player with natural gifts even other previous QB1s do not have. His issues are more from a lack of consistency than ability in any area. This is a quarterback with franchise-changing talent that is worthy of a No. 1 overall selection.”
This is the third time in recent memory that the Bears have taken a QB in the first round, with the picks of Mitchell Trubisky and Justin Fields clearly not working out as planned.
