Head Coach Andy Reid has ended all of the debates about his retirement by announcing he will return as the two-time defending champs the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Honestly, I haven’t even thought about it, but I get asked it,” Reid said. “I mean, I’m still kind of in awe of the game and what went on there, so I really haven’t thought why or what or anything else. But people keep asking me, and I keep saying, ‘Why didn’t Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll retire?’ Ask those old guys those questions.”
“But I’m the old guy now, so I guess I’m gonna be asked that. And I really haven’t gone there. I haven’t really thought about it.”
Andy Reid looking for a three-peat
Andy Reid is fourth on the time winningest Head Coach’s list with 284 wins. Leaving him 40 short of George Halas in third, and 63 behind leader Don Shula.
There can be no doubt that Reid is walking among the leagues all time great coaches, and has a more than realistic chance of passing them, if he chooses to continue. Coaching another 5 seasons with Patrick Mahomes as his QB would surely have him right in that race with Don Shula for the GOAT.
