Five days into free agency and the Giants have signed veteran CB Adoree’ Jackson to a bumper 3-year $39-million contract. With $24.5-million guaranteed the deal locks the Giants to Jackson for at least the next two seasons.
Originally the 18th overall selection of the Tennessee Titans Jackson was great in his first two seasons in the NFL. Registered 2 interceptions and 24 pass breakups and only conceding a pair of touchdowns. However, he suffered an ankle injury in 2019 and a knee injury in 2020 which made him expendable to the Titans.

Coming back from the knee injury in week 15 last season, Jackson certainly seemed to have lost some mobility or at least some confidence which is extremely common. Players returning from serious knee injuries usually return to full strength in their second year after the injury.
Jackson also offers value as a returner. He was a 2017 Pro Bowl Alternate as a kick returner average 22 yards per kick return and 8.5 yards per punt return.
Adoree’ Jackson joins an improving defense that climbed from 28th in passing yards per game allowed to 17th in 2020.
