Where are 2-4 Packers with Jordan Love

When the Packers anointed Jordan Love their starting quarterback by trading Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets there were a few raised eyebrows. Clearly Rodgers wanted out, and the Packers had already shown Love a lot of, well, Love.

But despite the hype, Jordan Love hadn’t really done much on the field in live-fire situations. Despite that Packers HC Matt LaFleur said this of Love back in April, “He definitely understands that he’s the guy in charge, he’s going to be the guy in the huddle and he’s got to be an extension of us, and we’re excited for him. We’ve got a lot of confidence in him.”

JORDAN LOVE IS A QUESTION THAT NEEDS ANSWERING

LaFleur is obviously sticking with his QB, this week saying “Our confidence in him is not wavering one bit. Certainly as the playcaller you put a lot of onus on yourself when things aren’t going well, and we’ll continue to do that, but we’ve got to find a way to generate more points because when you’re generating points, it’s just a totally different narrative.”

But in truth he has no other option but to say that.

In his six games this season, Jordan Love has cracked 60% completions only twice, he’s had only 2 games without throwing a pick, and has two games with only 1 touchdown pass, and one game with none. And the Packers have only played two teams with winning records in Detroit and Atlanta.

So Love hasn’t faced elite defences. And to be fair the Packers have a pretty easy schedule the rest of the way. But can he turn it around?

Last week he faced the Denver Broncos, the Broncos who gave up 70 points to the Dolphins and who average giving up 33 points per game and he only put 17 points on them. So hopes are slim, but still alive.

The only positive for Packers fans right now is that Jordan Love may just be bad enough to put them in the hunt for Caleb Williams.
