Dolphins Training Camp: Albert Wilson looking to shine in 2021

Training camp has officially gotten underway for the Miami Dolphins, and that means that football is finally back!  Despite the rocky opening day of camp with the still ongoing Xavien Howard situation, fans have been more than thrilled from what they have been seeing so far with the Dolphins, and one player in particular has been stealing the show every single day and he didn’t even suit up for the Miami last season, and that player is Albert Wilson.

Albert Wilson chose to opt out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the team sure missed what he could have brought to the team on the offensive end, as Miami found themselves very short handed at receiver during multiple occasions in the 2020 season.  In 20 career games for the Dolphins Wilson has recorded 69 receptions for 742 yards and 5 touchdowns.

One week into camp Wilson has found himself in a very great spot on the depth chart, with the injuries to Will Fuller, and DeVante Parker, Wilson and rookie receiver Jaylen Waddle have been serving as Miami’s 1 & 2 receivers in all of the team’s passing scrimmages.  If you spend a lot of time on Twitter then you probably noticed last week as well that it was just tweet after tweet during of Albert Wilson making huge plays at camp.

ALBERT WILSON HAS BEEN LIGHTING UP THE HIGHLIGHTS

We all know what Will Fuller and DeVante Parker are going to open up for the offense, although we also know that both players struggle to stay on the field on a consistent basis. Having a trio of Waddle, Wilson, and Gesicki is the kind of depth the Dolphins desperately needed last season, and it is going to do wonders for them in 2021.

Aside from his exciting performance in camp so far, Wilson has been a real vocal leader with his teammates and has just been an awesome presence for the team.  It’s going to be interesting to see how his role will be adjusted when Fuller and Parker return from injury, but it is more than clear that Albert Wilson is determined to have a big year in 2021.
