Free agent CB AJ Bouye signs with Panthers

Former Broncos CB AJ Bouye has signed a 2-year $7-million with the Panthers with $3.5-million guaranteed and cap hit of just $2.2875-million in 2020. He offers a serious upgrade if he is back to his best and at just 29 he still has the ability to have a few high-level years ahead of him

Bouye still has 2 games to serve of his suspension for PED usage, but once he takes the field he brings extensive experience to a defensive backfield that struggled in 2020 ranking 18th on passing yards conceded.

AJ BOUYE NEEDS TO RETURN TO BALLHAWKING

Enterring his nninth season Bouye has seen Bouye has the ability to be a game changer if the Panthers can force opposing QB’s to get the ball out quickly. With 16 interceptions, and 54 pass breakups in his career Bouye thrives in tight coverage and quick passes allow him to break on the ball.

At his prime Bouye allowed less than 50% of targets against him to be completed. However, that has risen to over 60% in each of his last three seasons. Originally drafted by the Texans in 2013 Bouye has spent time with the Texans, Jaguars, and Broncos.
