Derrick Henry: Beast Mode v2.0

A while back in my fantasy league, around week 2, I was discussing Derrick Henry and the Titans with a fellow fantasy-eer (if that’s even a phrase), and he said to me that he thought that Derrick Henry was an “elite RB”.

Once I’d stopped laughing, I pretty much dismissed what he had to say. “The Titans can never win”, I said to myself, and “Derrick Henry….I mean whuuuuut?!”

Derrick Henry proved me wrong

Now. It’s not often that I admit that I’m totally wrong. Believe me, when I say this, I actually really hate admitting that I was wrong. Especially when it’s about fantasy.

But I was. On both counts. And Not only in fantasy, real life too! <Grumble>

The Tennessee Titans are for real. Derrick Henry is legit.

He is, for real, Beast Mode v2.0 – the new improved version!

Yeah, but what about the Chiefs?

What about ’em? The tactic of stopping the opposition getting the ball, and essentially running a slightly varied version of “exotic smashmouth” might also work against the Chiefs.

The stats show that the Titans didn’t necessarily dominate possession in the games against the Patriots and the Ravens – but, boy, didn’t they use the ball effectively!

The stats since mid-season don’t lie. Mike Vrabel has definitely worked out the best way to make his team use their best weapons. He deserves much credit for this, but the majority must go to “Big Deek” (as he’d be called in Scotland – sounds rude, but it’s not, honestly!)

Derrick Henry was absolutely instrumental in these games. And he will be again, of that I’ve no doubt.

If the Titans can do a job against the Chiefs, it will again be down to one man.

Mr Henry is indeed Beast Mode (improved). Version 2.0, if you will.

I certainly wouldn’t want to face him, if I were on the Chiefs Defense – remember they’re not great against the run, so it’s obvious what Vrabel’s strategy will be!

Luke’s (not very good) Score Prediction: Titans 28 Chiefs 31 (OT)
