#86 Zach Ertz headed to IR with quad strain

Arizona Cardinals star tight end Zach Ertz is headed to IR with a quad strain according to multiple sources. Ertz has 27 catches of 187 yards and 1 score this season.

It’s been a miserable season so far for the Cardinals, with QB Kyler Murray still on PUP and RB James Conner having missed multiple games. In the first season under Jonathan Gannon things certainly could’ve been smoother. The loss of Zach Ertz will be a massive blow to an offence that has struggled all season.

Originally drafted in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Eagles, Zach Ertz has proven to be a reliable and effective offensive weapon. He ranks 12th all time for receiving yards among tight ends, and is less than 500 yards away from the top 10.
