The San Francisco 49ers kept alive their hopes of the NFC’s number 1 seed with a total demolition of last seasons NFC Champions 42-19 in Philadelphia.
Brock Purdy, who left the NFC Championship game last year with injury threw for 314 yards and 4 scores, including 116 and 2 scores to Deebo Samuel.
Billed by many as a revenge game after the Eagles topped the 49ers, San Francisco weren’t having any of that. “There wasn’t much to last year with this,” 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said. “We were just excited to come out here and play a really good team and play well and get a win.”
49ERS UNSTOPPABLE
The Eagles will likely hope the injury seemingly suffered by QB Jalen Hurts was the main reason for their offensive short fall, a sentiment that came from the QB himself. “Typically, when you play to the standard, you win,” Hurts said. ”I don’t think we’ve played to the standard and won.”
But the truth is the Eagles had no answer for the 49ers offense. After back-to-back three and outs to start the game, the 49ers scored on their next 6 drives. The only drive they didn’t score on was the one to run out the clock to seal the game.
