Boxing Day – “Paying Homage to the schedule”

On Boxing Day plenty of Brits, myself included, love to binge… on live sporting events. This year will be absolutely no different – there’s a whole host of live sport to watch on Boxing Day this year, starting early doors.

8am – England’s cricket tour of South Africa gets underway as the much anticipated first test starts. The first of four tests over the space of a few weeks, the action gets underway early – so you can start your sports binge as soon as you wake up.

12pm – The afternoon session of the PDC World Darts championship gets underway at the Alexandra Palace in London.

Boxing Day football fest

12:30pm – The first footballing action of the day gets underway as Tottenham take on Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium live, as every Premier League Boxing Day game is, on Amazon Prime. As well as that, there’s some live SPFL on as Hearts play Hibernian in a festive edition of the Edinburgh derby.

2:30pm – More SPFL action for you as champions Celtic take on St Mirren at The Simple Digital Arena (I know…). That one is live for you on BT Sport 1.

Boxing Day Schedule

3pm – At three there’s a whole host of football for us to enjoy. There are six games from the Premier League on at three, and you can take your pick of each and every one of them on Amazon Prime – if you haven’t got a membership, you can get a month long free trial which will give you all the action for nothing. As well as that, you’ve got the normal set of fixtures from across the EFL and beyond on tv – you can keep across all of those on a festive Soccer Special on Sky Sports.

5pm – The evening session of the PDC World Darts Championship gets underway at the Ally Pally.

5:30pm – The next bit of Premier League action gets underway at Old Trafford as Manchester United prepare for the visit of Newcastle United – a team who have already bested them once this season. Meanwhile, there is live EFL action as Leeds take on Preston North End at Elland Road – that can be watched on Sky Sports Football.

7:30pm – The football action continues as Reading take on QPR at the Madejski Stadium, Live on Sky Sports Football.

8pm – The final bit of Premier League action gets underway as Leicester City take on Liverpool in a heavyweight, top of the table clash. As with every other EPL game during the day, this match can be caught live on Amazon Prime.

Well, my only piece of advice to you is to find as many devices as you possibly can and get Sky Go, Amazon Prime and BT Sport downloaded. At a couple of points in the day, you can have three or four sports on the go.
