According to Marca, Inter Milan want Barcelona and France forward Antoine Griezmann to be included in any deal for striker Lautaro Martinez.
Barcelona’s admiration for the Inter forward Lautaro Martinez has been no secret over the last few months.
Between Lionel Messi turning on the charm and Martinez’s agent speaking to press, speculation has been rife.
Meanwhile, Antoine Griezmann’s name has been used as a potential negotiating tactic already. He was mentioned as a part of proposed deal to bring Neymar back to the Nou Camp.
According to Marca’s report, the release clause for Martinez is 111 million euros, while Griezmann’s is 120 million euros.
Inter see the difference between the two as a nominal amount and think that a part-exchange deal could be the best way to do a deal.
Meanwhile, Barcelona do not quite see it the same way and are reportedly reluctant to use the Frenchman in any possible deal.
Inter club president Javier Zanetti has insisted that the Argentinian is happy at the San Siro, while the players agent says Martinez “wants to become the next Messi.”
Once the COVID-19 crisis is over, it’s likely we will see more deals of this nature do to the toll the virus is taking on the finances in football.
If Barcelona really want Martinez, this presents the best way to get the deal done without them having to spend much – if anything.
