Paul Pogba Releases Basketball Video While Rehabbing Injury

Earlier this week Paul Pogba posted a clip onto his Instagram, taken from a basketball shootaround with Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler, while the Manchester United midfielder is in Dubai rehabbing an ankle injury. It’s safe to say that this footage hasn’t gone down well with some Man Utd supporters and has sparked reports in some media outlets that the World Cup winner will never play another game for the Red Devils, with a move away from the club planned in January.

Pogba hasn’t featured for United since the end of September, his last game being the 1-1 draw with Arsenal. The club have been unwilling to commit to a timetable for his return, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stated in a recent interview with the club site that it “would be a little while before we see him.”

With the footage of Pogba taking a jump shot with Butler, fans and media immediately began to speculate that the midfielder was faking his injury in a bid to avoid playing for his club and aid in forcing through a move to either Real Madrid or Juventus.

Pogba has since hit back with a handful of posts on his Instagram account, with one post showing his strapped up ankle and a second showing it being worked on by a masseuse.

For the most part, the response as to whether or not they want to lose their star midfielder seems to be mixed amongst United fans, however there is one thing that is certain – they are more than ready for an end to this ongoing drama. Fans are growing tired of the constant media circus and conflicting reports about the player, as well as the raging debates amongst fellow supporters as to whether or not he actually belongs to the club.’

Paul Pogba situation looks toxic

From an outside perspective, the entire Pogba situation seems to be nothing but toxic for the club at present, the sooner he can return to the pitch and do his talking there, the better. Though, as we have witnessed with Raheem Sterling, it seems as though the media will continue to hound the player for as long as he remains in English football.

Contrary to reports and rumours, Man Utd are hopeful that Pogba will be able to make his return for the Manchester Derby on December 7th, if that is the case it will hopefully put and end to the ridiculous rumours of him faking his injury.
