Manchester United Considering These 5 Central Defenders

Lazy Fan Sports understand that Toby Alderweireld, Raphael Varane, David Lopez, Clement Lenglet, Milan Skriniar are the central defenders Manchester United & Jose Mourinho are strongly considering.

We’ve recently been informed that it will be one of those listed players, possibly even two depending on who leaves.

With everything, I’m reliably informed that all deals have complications involved so don’t hold your breath with any immediate fireworks.

Toby Alderweireld would be the perfect solution for almost every United fan but the problem is in competition. Ideally, Spurs would like to keep Toby, whilst Real Madrid is also very keen. It’s even possible Manchester City move for him if he’s still available in August (depending on other agreements and deals).

Manchester United target Alderweireld

Whilst Toby Alderweireld would be effectively replacing Raphael Varane who Real Madrid would like to keep. If Toby moves to Madrid I’d expect Varane to move on and Mourinho will certainly be keen on a reunion.

David Lopez is also another that Manchester United, but particularly Mourinho remains very interested in. It’s unlikely to happen in the near future but the Jose does have Lopez watched on a regular basis in La Liga.

It’s possible an English defender may be signed but many haven’t been scouted intensely outside of match scout reports.

Clement Lenglet and Milan Skriniar have both been scouted intensely but have yet to make any contact with the players’ representation or their respective clubs.

A central defender would be Manchester United 3rd’s summer signing of the season after wrapping deals for Fred and Dalot earlier in the week.
