Group E – Brazil vs Switzerland

Competition favourites Brazil get their World Cup campaign underway in Rostov, when they take on Switzerland in Group E.

Brazil, five time winners of the competition look to kick start this campaign at take Group E advantage. In doing so clearing their name from the humiliating 7-1 by Germany at the last World Cup.

Switzerland will need to take every chance they get as there will not be that many. Organisation will be they key to avoiding defeat.

Switzerland’s Admir Mehmedi has been ruled out by injury for this game. Manger Petkovic  is still unsure whether to start Haris Seferovic in attack.

Admir Mehmedi, is likely to miss the first game through injury, unless the manager feels its worth the risk.

Group E Team talk

Brazil defender Thiago Silva said.”The 7-1 is no longer in our heads, we have the level to be world champions again and re-write our history,”

“We have greater confidence,” added midfielder Paulinho. “Brazil are better prepared in a number of ways. That is just part of football. In four years you learn a lot of things.”

Switzerland manager Petkovic said:”Of course Neymar is an exceptional player,” “It is difficult to hold him back throughout an entire match. Along with Cristiano Ronaldo, he is one of the strongest players in the world.

“We have to prepare mentally to play against such strong players.”

Lazy Prediction

Brazil come into the game with a point to prove, underperforming in the last World Cup will be on their back. This is the perfect game to shake that off. Switzerland will need to stay strong at the back and soak up early pressure.

I feel Brazil will be too strong on this occasion. If all the cogs begin to tun then this could be over early doors.

Brazil to win 4-0
