Robert Quinn is becoming a Chicago Bear. The former Cowboy, Dolphin, and Ram, has agreed to terms on a 5-year $70 milion deal, with $30 million fully guaranteed. A formidable edge rusher, Quinn is a dynamic and disruptive force that will take the Bears D up a notch.
Starting for the Cowboys in 2019, Quinn registered 11.5 sacks, 34 tackles, 26 solo tackles, and 2 forced fumbles in 14 games. He was suspended for the first two games of the season for violating the leagues PED policy.
2019 marked the fourth time in his nine-year career that Robert Quinn has topped 10 sacks in a season. In his prime, he racked up 19 sacks in 2013 with the Rams. He missed half of the 2015 season due to back surgery, and some of 2016 with shoulder injuries, and concussion.
Robert Quinn is a stud
Since then Quinn has been working his way back to the elite level. He has played over 600 snaps in each of the last three seasons and has steadily regained his edge, with, 38 total pressures in 2017, 39 in 2018, and 57 last season, including those 11.5 sacks.
Quinn will count over $14 million towards the Bears cap in each of the last four seasons, which is quite high given he is already 30, but signs are positive that his health is no longer an issue, and with his production improving the last couple of seasons.
With the Robert Quinn signing the Bears have laid down a marker that they are not going to sit back this offseason and let things stagnate after missing the playoffs in 2019. The aim is clearly to get back to the playoffs in 2020, and any whisperings of a rebuild have been ended by this signing.
