World Cup Group C | Kylian Mbappe injury doubt for France at World Cup 2018

Paris St Germain wonderkid Kylian Mbappe suffered a knock in training on Tuesday after a clash with Adil Rami and, despite there being no details on the extent of his injury, Mbappe has assured fans on social media that it is nothing to worry about.

On Twitter, the 19-year-old said “I’m fine, it’s just a knock so it doesn’t matter but thank you for your messages. And leave my friend [Rami] alone, it wasn’t nasty.”

Rami himself also took to social media to reassure fans, posting an Instagram video where he yelled to Mbappe across the treatment room “Hey, Kylian are you OK? Yes, yes!”

Mbappe has just three days to prove his fitness before France is opening game against Australia on Saturday.

Kylian Mbappe would be a huge miss for France

Should the PSG forward be on fit to play any part at the tournament and then France boss Didier Deschamps may call on the likes of Anthony Martial or Alexandre Lacazette from his reserve list to replace Mbappe.

Mbappe is expected to undergo tests after the challenge from Rami left him down on the ground for several minutes, with the starlet surrounded by France’s medical staff.

The loss of Mbappe would be a big one for Deschamps’ side as the youngster has become incredibly important to their side over the last year and has started seven out of France’s last seven friendly’s prior to the start of the tournament and has contributed three goals and four assists in that time.

For club side, Mbappe contributed 21 goals for PSG in 46 appearances as well as setting up 16 goals, forming a fearsome front three with Neymar and Edinson Cavani as PSG once again lifted the Ligue 1 title.

Clearly a great player already, hopefully Mbappe will be fit to play a big part for France because, from a spectator point of view, you always want to see the best players and Mbappe is undoubtedly one of the best right now.
